The terrazzo renovation process consists of multiple steps executed with precision and craftsmanship. From filling to polishing — every step is crucial for a perfect end result.
An important step in the renovation process is filling cracks and holes in the terrazzo. These damages are carefully repaired, often in the colour of the original terrazzo to ensure a seamless finish. We then grind and level the floor to create a smooth surface.
After filling, any colour differences are corrected. This is a crucial step as it ensures a uniform appearance. At Verona Floors we have the expertise to mix and apply the exact colours, so your terrazzo looks as good as new.
After repairing the damage, the terrazzo is sanded and honed. This process ensures the surface is even and smooth, ready for the next step: applying a protective layer. This sealing layer helps protect the terrazzo against future damage and wear.
The final step in the renovation process is polishing the terrazzo. This can be done in both a glossy or matte finish, depending on your preference. Polishing not only gives the terrazzo a beautiful appearance, but also helps to seal and strengthen the protective layer.
Terrazzo renovation is often a labour-intensive job, but it is certainly worth it. A renovated terrazzo floor can last many more years — a cost-effective and environmentally friendly choice.

At Verona Floors we believe in sustainability that lasts generations — just like the original terrazzo that originates from ancient Rome. We combine centuries-old tradition with modern innovation and proudly carry the Low Embodied Carbon label.
By using recycled materials and a carefully composed production process, we minimise our ecological footprint without compromising on quality or appearance. Choose terrazzo that not only survives generations, but also minimally burdens the environment.
A terrazzo floor is a poured composite floor consisting of natural stone chips — such as marble, granite or quartz — bound in a cement or resin base. After pouring, the floor is ground and polished to a seamless, smooth surface.
Yes, terrazzo is an excellent heat conductor and therefore very well suited for underfloor heating. The floor warms up evenly and retains heat for a long time.
Terrazzo is very low maintenance. Regular mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner is sufficient. Periodic polishing keeps the floor in top condition.
