An Artisan Floor with a Centuries-Old Tradition

Terrazzo is a composite floor of marble, granite or glass fragments, bound in cement or resin and then ground to a smooth, seamless surface.

At Verona Floors we work exclusively with selected natural materials. Each floor is poured on-site — creating a true one-of-a-kind piece.

The Power of Restoring
& Renewing

The terrazzo renovation process consists of multiple steps executed with precision and craftsmanship. From filling to polishing — every step is crucial for a perfect end result.

01
Filling and levelling

Filling, Grinding & Levelling

An important step in the renovation process is filling cracks and holes in the terrazzo. These damages are carefully repaired, often in the colour of the original terrazzo to ensure a seamless finish. We then grind and level the floor to create a smooth surface.

02
Colour matching repairs

Colour-Matched Repairs

After filling, any colour differences are corrected. This is a crucial step as it ensures a uniform appearance. At Verona Floors we have the expertise to mix and apply the exact colours, so your terrazzo looks as good as new.

03
Sanding and finishing

Sanding, Honing & Finishing

After repairing the damage, the terrazzo is sanded and honed. This process ensures the surface is even and smooth, ready for the next step: applying a protective layer. This sealing layer helps protect the terrazzo against future damage and wear.

04
Polishing terrazzo

Polishing the Terrazzo

The final step in the renovation process is polishing the terrazzo. This can be done in both a glossy or matte finish, depending on your preference. Polishing not only gives the terrazzo a beautiful appearance, but also helps to seal and strengthen the protective layer.

Terrazzo renovation is often a labour-intensive job, but it is certainly worth it. A renovated terrazzo floor can last many more years — a cost-effective and environmentally friendly choice.

Everything About
Terrazzo Floors

What exactly is a terrazzo floor?

A terrazzo floor is a poured composite floor consisting of natural stone chips — such as marble, granite or quartz — bound in a cement or resin base. After pouring, the floor is ground and polished to a seamless, smooth surface.

Is terrazzo suitable for underfloor heating?

Yes, terrazzo is an excellent heat conductor and therefore very well suited for underfloor heating. The floor warms up evenly and retains heat for a long time.

How do I maintain my terrazzo floor?

Terrazzo is very low maintenance. Regular mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner is sufficient. Periodic polishing keeps the floor in top condition.

Can I choose the colours and materials myself?

Absolutely. At Verona Floors you create a unique colour recipe together with us. You choose from various aggregates and pigments. We create sample pieces so you can see the result in advance.

How long does installation take?

On average you can expect a few weeks — from pouring to grinding and polishing. During the consultation we provide a realistic timeline.

Is terrazzo sustainable and eco-friendly?

Terrazzo is one of the most sustainable flooring options. The materials are natural, the floor lasts generations and is fully recyclable.

Do you work outside the Netherlands?
